Our Spring 2021 Plant Sale is now OPEN!

We are experiencing especially high demand for plants this year. We are currently sold out of a number of items, and are:

looking for more stock or close substitutes (Blueberry sets, Beach Plum, Red Chokeberry ”Brilliantissima’, Black Huckleberry, Pasture Rose), but for now, these items are listed as sold out online (check back soon for more), and
offering substitutes for your consideration for Mountain Laurel ‘Bullseye’ (substitute is Mountain Laurel ‘Carousel’), Summer Phlox ‘Fashionably Early Crystal’ (substitute is Summer Phlox ‘Fashionably Early Lavender Ice), and Ox-Eye Daisy ‘Summer Sun’ (substitute is Ox-Eye Daisy ‘Burning Hearts’).

The Plant and Seedling Sale is Primarily ONLY a Pre-Order Sale in 2021!

~~Some additional plants, including extras of most pre-order plants and a few more perennials, will be available for day-of-sales.~~ (No day-of sales due to COVID)

Pickup/Sale days are April 23 & 24
Pre-Orders are due by April 7! Exception – Bare-Root Evergreen Tree Seedlings must be ordered by March 10!
We encourage you to order as soon as possible, as supplies are limited!
Please Note: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are taking extra precautions, including expanding our pick-up hours, staggering pick-ups as much as possible, limiting the number of volunteers, providing curb-side service, and limiting the “sale” to a simple pre-order pick-up, to eliminate gathering. We will provide updates if anything changes, and will send out our usual reminder postcards with further information.

The Native Landscaping Workshop will be held online this year on Saturday, March 20th, 10-11:30 am, Registration Information to be Posted Soon. The Wintonbury Land Trust will hold a Free Guided Walk on Saturday, April 24th, 1-3pm (Rain Date: April 25th, 1-3pm), Sign up for the event at events@wintonburylandtrust.org (more info under Workshops below).

Directions to the Vernon Pickup at TAC (Tolland County Agricultural Center), 24 Hyde Avenue, Vernon:

From I-84 westbound, take exit 67. Go right at the light at the end of the exit. At the first traffic light, go right onto Route 30 (Hyde Avenue). Tolland County Agricultural Center is on the right, just past Rockville Bank.

From I-84 eastbound, take exit 67. Go left at the light at the end of the exit. At the second traffic light, go right onto Route 30 (Hyde Avenue). Tolland County Agricultural Center is on the right, just past Rockville Bank.

The pickup site at TAC is at the GREEN BARN, the 3rd building back from the road.

Directions to the Bloomfield Pickup at Hawk Hill Farm, 22 Duncaster Road, Bloomfield (www.wintonburylandtrust.org):

**Please note the sale will take place for a second year at Hawk Hill Farm (www.wintonburylandtrust.org)!

From I-91 northbound: Take exit 35 (Bloomfield/Route 218 west). Follow Route 218 west through Bloomfield (about 5 miles). Go right onto Route 189 north. Turn left onto Gabb Road, which turns left and becomes 178 west. Turn right onto Mountain Ave. Turn right onto Duncaster Road. Hawk Hill Farm is located a third of a mile on the right (red barn by road).

From I-91 southbound: Take exit 38A/38B (CT-75 toward Windsor/Poquonock), keep left to take exit 38B, follow signs for Day Hill Road. Continue to follow Day Hill Road. Turn left onto 189 south. Turn right onto Adams Road. Turn left onto Duncaster Road, follow for 2.5 miles to Hawk Hill Farm on left (red barn by road).

From Route 185: Take West Street (0.1 mile north of the intersection of 185 and 178) to the end. Turn right onto Mountain Ave and an immediate left onto Duncaster Road. Hawk Hill Farm Road is located a third of a mile on the right (red barn by road).

We are using shared spreadsheets to help customers stagger pick-up times, increase social distancing, and decrease wait times. This is not required but would help us to avoid delays during the pick-up. Please do your part to help this run smoothly! The links for both locations are below.
