Welcome to Eastern Connecticut Conservation District

The Eastern Connecticut Conservation District (ECCD) is a local not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping the towns and citizens of Eastern Connecticut with their conservation needs. The creation of the ECCD is a result of the reorganization of Connecticut’s eight county based soil and water Conservation Districts into five regional watershed areas: Northwest, Southwest, North Central, Connecticut River Coastal, and Eastern.
The service area of the ECCD encompasses thirty-six municipalities covering Windham and New London counties and part of Tolland County. Our service area includes the towns of:
Andover, Ashford, Bozrah, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Columbia, East Lyme, Eastford, Franklin, Griswold, Groton, Hampton, Killingly, Lebanon, Ledyard, Lisbon, Mansfield, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Norwich, Plainfield, Pomfret, Preston, Scotland, Sprague, Sterling, Stonington, Thompson, Union, Voluntown, Waterford, Windham and Woodstock.

Thames River Basin Partnership Rain Barrel/Bio-orb Promotion
Eastern Connecticut Conservation District Thames River Basin Partnership Connection
From 2006 – 2009, the TRBP Coordinator was a grant funded position administered by the ECCD. This funding source has expired. ECCD still continues to support the TRBP by providing staff time to coordinate quarterly meetings and maintain the financial records. You can help support ECCD by purchasing a Rain Barrel and/or Bio-orb from the New England Rain Barrel Company. For each Rain Barrel purchased at $84.95 through the 2010 TRBP promotion, ECCD will receive $9. For each Bio-orb purchased at $99.95 through the 2010 TRBP promotion, ECCD will receive $10. Not only are both these items part of an important backyard conservation ethic, but by purchasing them from the NE Rain Barrel Company, you can also support your favorite non-profit conservation organization. This will help ECCD to continue to support this regional conservation partnership.
How to order your Rain Barrel or Bio-orb from the New England Rain Barrel Company to help support the Eastern Connecticut Conservation District’s support of the Thames River Basin Partnership (TRBP)
